Now there is help for your dog if she suffers from urinary leakage (also known as urinary incontinence). This condition can be uncomfortable for your dog and frustrating for you. Proin can help manage this condition and should result in your dog feeling better faster. What is Proin? Proin is a chewable tablet available by prescription from your veterinarian that can help manage urinary incontinence (urine leaking) in dogs. Urinary incontinence is common in female, spayed dogs but can also result from conditions such as obesity, anatomical abnormalities, infection, and weakening of the bladder and urethral muscles due to old age. What are the benefits of Proin? Helps tighten the bladder and urethral muscles to prevent urine leaking (incontinence). Chewable tablet makes it easy to administer to your dog. Available in different strengths in order to accommodate your dog�s needs. Formulated for: dogs. Proin is not labeled for cats. How is this medication given? You can give Proin with your dog�s food or it can be given as a treat. Dosage will vary based on your dog�s weight and needs. Your veterinarian will determine the dosage and frequency that is right for your dog so follow his/her instructions. How does this medication work? Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) is the active ingredient in Proin. PPA is a sympathomimetic agent that is responsible for the �fight or flight� response in your dog�s body. PPA also helps improve the tone of the muscles located in the urethra and bladder neck. Tightening these specific muscles help to minimize urine leaking. What results can I expect? Proin is not a cure but it will help manage urinary incontinence in dogs. You should notice less urine leaking once your dog starts taking this medication as directed. As a result, your dog should start to feel better. It can take several days to see results but each dog�s response to this medication can be different. This medication must be given as directed in order to work. Symptoms can return If Proin is not given as directed or if it is discontinued entirely. What Form(s) does Proin come in? Proin is available in 3 different strengths (25, 50, and 75 mg). It is a chewable tablet with liver flavoring. Proin is also manufactured as an oral drop.

This drug PPP really worked to fix the urinary incontinence of my 13 year old male PWD. I was skeptical but it worked perfectly. No diapers now req'd for leakage. Its a pretty low cost, no side effect way to treat this problem.

The product is used for incontinence in dogs. Once you get to the right dosing it really works. My dog developed incontinence right after being spayed. You must be consistent about daily use. They are large pills and the dogs can spit them out easily; however, if you stick them in peanut butter it always goes right down. Be sure to have your dogs blood work check regularly with your vet. I have been very lucky with the use of this product along with the dog. Otherwise she would just be a mess 24/7. Hope this information helps any users.

Our vet prescribed Proin tablets for our 12 year old dog after she started having small accidents around the house. After ruling out a urinary infection, the vet said these pills should help. Our dog weighs about 25 pounds. After the vet tried different doses, we now give our dog a 25 mg tab in the morning and half at night. These pills work great. There have been no more accidents!

I have a 10 month old puppy who got incontinence after I had her spayed at 6 months. She, like other reviews I have read, leaked while napping. I tried a holistic medication first that did not work. I was worried about putting her on a medication but had no other options, unless I wanted to keep cleaning my carpets and washing her bedding weekly. My vet recommended 2 25mg tablets per day. She has been using it for a little over a week now and it seems to be working, with no side effects! My boyfriend missed giving her ONE dose on Saturday and she leaked a little on Monday, this shows that just missing a little can have a big effect. I hope this continues to work, it is wonderful not having to deal with the smell of urine all the time!

This product is given twice a day. Most of the time, although tasty, is given with peanut butter. It maintains incontinence and eliminated the soil and mess. Abby was a "free" dog tied to the end of a rope outside indefinitely when we adopted her and allowed her to come inside. Without this medication she would still need to be monitored 24/7 and otherwise viligent to prevent "accidents".
